Instead of producing designs inspired by Indigenous peoples, support + hire Indigenous Designers. Featured: Work by Dewayne Dale and Brian Skeet, IDSA. #IndigenousPeoplesDay
The list of American cities choosing to celebrate #IndigenousPeoplesDay continues to grow every year. Today we celebrate the hundreds of tribal nations, appreciate all the unique cultures, and celebrate the peoples that make up #IndianCountry! It's a good day to be indigenous!

-13- Oxalis oregana, known commonly as Redwood sorrel or Oregon oxalis, is native to the moist redwood forests of the Pacific Northwest and California. The leaves of this plant were consumed by indigenous people of the region. ☘️#inktober #inktober2019 #inktoberday13
Wenupteryx uzi got its name from the language of the indigenous Mapuche people, roughly translating to "fast sky wing." https://t.co/yR0osfys5P
#Inktober day 11 - Blue Camas
Found across the western mountains, blue camas was a staple plant for indigenous communities as a beautiful garden plant and as a valuable food source. Its bulbs are highly nutritional, but should not be confused with the toxic death camas.

@DavidOBowles I'm a little bit suspicious of Spanish claims she was royalty. I find it too close to "Magic Indian" rationals for smart & capable Indigenous people. I'll tell Diaz's "princess" story in my endnotes, but won't outright declare such in the story itself. I have Portocarrero saying:
[ neopets ] Little crops of my piece for @neopiazine! Preorders open until October 13th, all profits will go to the Brazilian Articulation of Indigenous Peoples (APIB)
