Refined a bit his face and posted an actual full body so I can show y'all the finished ref. later... Since he's a DX oc (and he's a nerd who loves ancient history) I feel like his clothes should be a mix of "old and new". Also yes I'm that thirsty that this man has leggings.

Quick and dirty: Treat the bill as lips/chin/jaw. I like to think the bill moves, unlike a real duck. Add character by adjusting the length/thickness of the front (ie Canard is more rugged and Wildwing is more refined). Add variation/movement/personality to edge. I also add teeth

i layer my digital sketches. construction sketch (lots of circles), refined sketch, details I know I’ll goof up

working on hair (red) and I know I’ll do lots of erasing so I put it on a separate layer. everything else (white) was easy and done in a single pass

Day 1283: Color Refined! My vision has been awful recently again which is making it hard to work. Still, the lessons have given me a lot to think about and I have some more exercises I'm going to get done! Plenty of time to just focus while all the isolation is going on.
