Throughout Alfred Munnings' memoirs, there are frequent references to his longing to sit by a river and paint. This depiction of the Barle river in Withypool on Exmoor was made in the 1940s. It was an area he frequently returned, to paint the play of light on the water's surface
#Folklore fascinates me, how myths & legends may affect our world today.
I love finding & telling stories that hover between fact & fantasy, whilst scratching at the surface of a truth.
#FolkloreThursday was a wonderful outlet for a few of these. #FolkloreThursdayContributors
As cool as the redesigns of Richie and Frieda are, they are completely wasted. The friendship with Virgil is so surface level that's genuinely surprising that they are part of the climax. And they contribute to any at all.
no matter how many times he had tried to claw out his eyes they would just regenerate, but he would still endlessly tear through his eyes and eyelids, slamming his face against the nearest surface trying to knock himself unconscious to stop feeling the pain, it never worked…
I love how Steve is like: good thing Namor hates other surface people more than he hates us.

At first, Kara doesn't recognize herself in the mirror. That skull can't be hers... But as she touches her bald scalp, she feels against her fingers a smooth and soft surface that proves she isn't dreaming.
@Nithclipse Hi, happy B-day. I do the arts thing sometimes.
I got sceneries and vg fanarts. I'm a particular sucker for reflective surfaces

A rat probably doesn’t spring to mind as heroic. But the specially trained African giant pouched rats save lives by detecting land mines (or tuberculosis samples). They can sniff out land mines and scratch at the surface to let people know where one is buried.
I'm mainly a lurker here on twitter- but outside of this hellscape site I make artwork, illustration, and pattern/surface design. There's lots of sloths involved. Be warned.
@Author_Anupam @CatinaNoble1 Sinking deeper into the ice, I get pulled to the surface. Look out the window, houses are swallowed by black lightning. I hold my dog as he growls, the demon enters the room. I am aware he wants to enter my body. Eyes open shadows lurk in the corner.

Second night of just getting ideas down, tonight I'm trying to work out a way to have a some what adjustable larger engine thruster and I'm thinking some thing similar to a simulation table with hydraulics. Its super rough and jitters in this test.

Triangle of light by Christopher Humphries
Christopher's chosen medium is a mix of acrylic, pastel and charcoal, leaving layer upon layer of vibrant colour and movement flow to 'find their way through to the surface and the viewer.
