别号紫陽山民、倦鶴，室名覺非庵、古柏草堂、三十七峰草堂。百年前清代畫壇獨樹一幟的畫家。有“晚清畫苑第一家”之誉。

虛谷是个“出世的和尚，入世的畫家”。也是個難得的，心里可愛的藝術家。
