finally done chipping away at this ref for glaucus's mobility aid (and most of it is me interpreting it as a robotic exoskeleton, which it looks like one)

mostly for my own reference but I hope it helps for anyone else!

Sketch for a commercial heavy truck fitted for handling powered exoskeletons or similar equipment in offroad conditions, possibly offworld. Rear hoist is articulated at two points and can almost completely retract.

tfw you sorta kinda make a slime girl oc of an space aliens species that projects their public image as faceless metallic warriors but in fact they're slime folk in exoskeletons but also like they're comfy being blobs around friends and allies and its more of an open secret

So I had a bad thought... what if the tartguard didn’t have bones but had an exoskeleton.

Which then turned into: What if the tartguard molts?

Would love a confirmation.

Tick is an insect-human hybrid subspecies of the Hunter made by the Arklay Lab. It had a brown exoskeleton, purple muscles & inhabited the courtyard basement, using the darkness to hunt with sickle-like arms. It's exclusive to BIO1's Sega Saturn version.

Vi-Bro the Golem Mini Boss. An automaton of S.T.A.C.E.E.'s Golem program he has been sent to cause terror on the streets and must be dealt with before he hurts someone. Controlled by one of S.T.A.C.E.E.'s slaves via holographic exoskeleton, it wont be easy.

Looking at inspiration for NPCs in Eberron:Terminus this evening, and loving this artwork! (Having a lot of fun thinking about how Eberron's tech can apply to NPCs and weapons, tools...exoskeletons??)

Chaurus (Skyrim) - 10/10

These STRONG, powerful bugs, having a tough exoskeleton that really shines in the low light of underground caves. They are like loyal puppies that would do everything to protect their caretaker. Very good bug.

The more I think about it, the more similarities I find between old school mecha anime and Halo.

The MI power armor here looks very similar to the early Mjolnir Mark III Exoskeleton from Dr. Halsey's armor, and even the badass HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL Mark I from The Prototype.

All scorpions fluoresce under ultraviolet light, such as an electric black light or natural moonlight. The blue-green glow comes from a substance found in the hyaline layer, a very thin but super tough coating in a part of the scorpion's exoskeleton called the cuticle.
