Whispers is Director Phobos after a botched S-3LF transfer, and Oracle is his vessel. Whispers has already taken control once and killed off Oracle's Sanford (Visions), driving Oracle away from getting too close to anyone.
FWIW it is a disguise meant to trick people into thinking it’s actually Ares, but the truth is it isn’t Ares. It’s his sons Phobos and Deimos.
Pedantic? Probably, but it isn’t Ares and honestly I’m sad every time I see it because he looks so good.
@DavidLobefaro Yeah 😅 those pics are of the “Ares” from Wonder Woman Year One, but it’s explained later in Rebirth that it was actually just Phobos and Deimos disguised as Ares, which is a shame because I love that look
