Also, just because l, here's a bunch of WIP progress shots. I worked out the lineart in CSP, printed it out, and used my living room window as a lightbox 🤣 After that, I painted the dang thing with watercolours, inks, gouache, and colour pencils

I had to get rid of the background because the cover had an ad on the inside cover so I couldn’t lightbox it on. I had to carbon transfer and *gasp* pencil it on. I am still going to do a 9x12 on red and in color for my store.

A thing I do for traditional art to save paper is use 3D props to figure out the perspective/background. I put the thumbnail on a flat plane in the 3D space to figure things out, then make a digital sketch to print out and transfer to sketchbook/art paper using a lightbox. https://t.co/ky9jj2ycBm

Heyo, I do watercolor and gouache art, and I don't trace, unless you count copying my own sketch from regular paper to watercolor paper using my homemade lightbox. I don't think that counts. 🤷

Thank you so much. I’ll post the process pix here. I imagined the layout in my head & I’m so happy with how it looks! I referenced her from a plastic model kit & from the manga, referenced the big vehicles from the film, penciled by hand, lightboxed trad inks, digital color☮️👍
