Criminal #7
A young Ricky Lawless is dissatisfied with his new home life. Writer Ed Brubaker interestingly chooses to fill in the backstory in part three of his Cruel Summer epic. Artist Sean Phillips and colorist Jacob Phillips’ clear, concise visuals always deliver. 4/5

Here are some of mine!
Criminal #6
A loveless Teeg Lawless has fallen in love. Writer Ed Brubaker is using a different character POV for each chapter of The Summer of ‘88, which I’m not usually a fan of, but I really liked getting into Teeg’s head. Artist Sean Phillips, color artist Jacob Phillips. 5/5
In Comics Disassembled, I look at ten things I liked or didn't like from the week of comics, led by Random House Graphic's first wave of books being announced, Ed Brubaker's big deal, Ellis + Hitch Batmanning up, Lucy Knisley breaking hearts, and more. https://t.co/J787bdC1i0
Man, #Criminal has been nothing short of brilliant since it came back. The current arc, Cruel Summer, basically tells the same story each issue, but from a different character’s perspective each time. Don’t miss out, folks. It’s superb.

@comicdudedc I would have said Saga a year ago, but it’s been almost a year since #54 was released, with no date announced for #55 as yet.
I’ll go with Criminal by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips.
Captain America #600 by Ed Brubaker, Butch Guice, et al., covers by @SteveEpting and @thealexrossart. Published 10 years ago today. #OTD #CaptainAmerica #WinterSoldier
⭐️ GUEST PROFILE - @seanpphillips ⭐️ Comic Book Artist | Co-creator of Criminal, Kill or Be Killed, Incognito and more all with Ed Brubaker | Other projects include Batman, X-Men and Stephen King's The Dark Tower | https://t.co/6LY2i9h2J6 #TBF19 #ComicCon #ComicArt
And now something actually by Sean Phillips -- The Fade Out was awesome. Sean's art is spot on for this kind of dark noir, and anyone who loves Chinatown or LA Confidential will love Brubaker's tale. @seanpphillips #Imstillafuckingmoron

In Ed Brubaker's newest Criminal I write about William Wellman's depression-era pre-code, the tough and sensitive and beautiful, "Wild Boys of the Road" (1933). Gorgeous art by @seanpphillips Pick it up or order it this Wed, April 24: https://t.co/kudFj1yKUi
The @criterionchannl has a terrific collection of Columbia Noir to watch - one of them a favorite of mine - Irving Lerner’s "Murder By Contract," which I wrote about for Ed Brubaker's Kill or Be Killed, art by @seanpphillips, in 2017. Here's my piece: https://t.co/QFHFNwrb3V …
