Those of you who do holo-shiny and oil slick effect stuff, if you're comfortable sharing your process, how do you achieve it? I wanna try new techniques that won't take so long to pull off... I tried something different but I don't entirely like it.

Whenever I draw I end up drawing the entire object and erase it when I draw something on top. Probably 20% of the illustration ends up erased in the process, but I think it’s the best way for me to understand exactly what I’m drawing (Small example of what I’m talking about)
