Now I've tamed retopology but I still can't escape the death grip of rigging. I used the rigify addon on this model and it didn't work very well because none of the available rigs match this character so I only posed the parts that worked and called it a day

Another fast rig type I can do is the southpark rigs! Canadians are only $200! Americans are $350 and come with a LOT of toggles, and full lip syncing!
