Answering my question with a few examples:
-For Ryunaki, it just takes some annoyance/insults
-For Madame Dust, being on the losing end of a battle/bringing up her lost riches
-For Nise, treating her like a helpless girl/bringing up her dead family
-For Ikari, damaging her hat
This hit me hard after losing my baby girl, but also is somewhat comforting
