Ignore that I called them screen tones and not blending modes 🤓

But if you're having trouble making your rendering look good, maybe mess around with the blending mode a bit

Now, onto the review. Last year I mainly focused on composition and perspective, while years prior I focused more on lineart and styling. This year I aimed to better my coloring/rendering skills as well as work with more extreme perspectives. These are some January highlights:

Before I sleep 💀
My entry for @/Suukun_514's dtiys challenge on insta.
I decided to experiment with perspective and rendering,
that was an experience, especially whilst pulling a speedrun on this 😭

Some behind-the-scenes stuff: a lot of the time I fully model an environment to create a "photo", and the age of the photo helps to hide the rendering artifacts. The only downside is that there is usually a lot of detail in the scene that doesn't make it to the final image.

These are some of my favorites this year before 2022 ends

Yes they’re all recent cause of the newer rendering style lol

Here’s a couple more I’m proud of! I learned to not to stress about rendering and polishing art and just consider an art piece complete whenever I want. :]

My interpretation of my pkmn black character, Miawis (which is basically hilda with a few tweaks) i like her a normal amount
This was a really experimental piece (full background, rendering and all) so rts and likes are very appreciated!!

In June I visited a friend in the Netherlands and when I came back I was inspired to draw what I consider my masterpiece. I learned a lot about drawing backgrounds and tried new ways for rendering, but I think the thing I like the most is the creative part

another year another summary of art - i stopped doing cell shading completely in jan and took up a more painterly rendering style. im really happy with my progress this year and proud of the improvement i made, onwards to 2023! 🥰

My art when I first started drawing digitally on IbisPaint in Feb 2021 vs My most recent art completed on Dec 31st !!
