Update on my furry -> human portrait. Almost done the hair. It needs some shading adjustments and revisits to the “shinier” parts.
Looking forward to painting the skin. Still unsure how to do it tho.

Frosty Lavender is probably the one I have most trouble with them getting art. Usually, her white forehead spot gets forgotten and I'm scared to ask if it can be added. Also, her bangs are commonly drawn fused into the rest of the mane instead of being a separate part of hair.

Strangely I really like hair buns and twin drills with blonde hair.

Think about shape more than anything and not individual strands of hair. And a guy that does that perfectly without losing complexity is mr Steven mcniven.

Start with an overall shape then add layers by thinking of hair in terms of chunks.

I think Ethan Van Sciver & Joe Mad draw the best hair. https://t.co/Xuppv0uykJ

Trying so hard to trust the process. Trying out a WAY more simplified method of rendering hair. I like the look on other artists, but I don't think I've managed to get the style down pat yet and thus my own is like 😢

"Those are Elixir. They seem to be heading somewhere!"

Here's a version with the dad's anime hair colour.
In the manga, his hair has no tone used. This would indicate he has very light/blonde hair. (black-full/most, brown-dots, blonde-none)
Yet when it came to adapting him in the anime, Kyoani gave him black/very dark brown hair

Not too many mainstays are set to be introduced, but there are some that I can discuss now, the first being Valorie Clair. She's the princess of France who decides to join Saph for mostly selfish reasons, but also for the sake of her royal guard and Saph's oldest sister, Marie.
