There was a lot of experimenting and searching for the right elements and also the composition of those elements.
In this image the egg is the central point, but the elements around draw your eye to it in a more powerful way whilst giving depth to the storytelling.
It's the little things. The Nano Eye trait has an extra "eye" in the center but that extra pixel gap is so important to give it the depth it has. Love the little details in the collection.

I am not the type of person that one can figure out over a cup of tea, I am the Enigma. Don't try to solve me, I am an ocean full of mysteries, anyone who tried to solve me will drown in the depths of me.
Like it chooses to draw out some scenes that the manga might spend a few panels on, and fleshes out others in a way that puts the focus on the depth on feeling over the fanservice in the first half. It's super noticeable.

I tried using a piece with a tad more depth. the comic bubble looks like shit. The lighting has a bit more affect on the characters here but I still personally prefer the original.
@BON_NOB I plan to eventually cover their 1993 PC-98 polygonal SRPG Desert Dragoon (デザートドラグーン). Its stylish aesthetic & depth of play ought to speak for itself!

Same principles apply to different coloring techniques, for this one I had a semi cell-shading style, notice how depth detection works a LOT better with well defined blocks of color. I'd spend more time on the parts where the light doesn't have a big effecting area.
