Looking at early concept art for the Tarutaru race in FFXI, the race that Lalafell in FFXIV are based on. They had a variety of more fae-like designs, but you can also clearly see the main inspiration for them being the classic Black Mage sprites.
Took some 5+ year old character designs, grabbed what i could recycle and made two new characters out of it.
