When Game of Thrones first came out I was not interested. But friends I trusted got me curious & my wife is a nerd for Tolkein-fantasy stuff so we gave it a try.
Got totally hooked, to the end.
Aside from 2 horrible episodes I was even forgiving of the much-maligned final season.
