Using my holidays to learn Affinity Designer (vector program with additional pixel ability). The graphics were purely done with vectors incl. gradients, transparency, inner & outer shadows. Still feels work in progress, not perfect and "never done" but hey it’s a start!

Hmm well I don’t often do character blending with it, but when I do fun gradient backgrounds and stuff I use Tarraleah (in the artistic brush group).
I’m not sure if that’ll do what u want but it can get some nice, texture gradient looks

The extra colour looks ok. There's a little gradient showing through but that can be fixed by modifying the logo slightly.

4- using an desaturated blue, on a multiply layer i do the shading of the shadows and depth of clothes at best
4.5- and another one for the highlgihts as a overlay layer

5- from there i just delete the solid color layer and disable the greyscale gradient

and bam!

first piece of 2022! I'm not sure it's what I initially had in mind for the finished piece, but that's fine, I'm okay with the end product. lots of gradient maps and messing with layer settings/effect brushes on this one.

I love drawing draconic creatures.
