But Jim being Jim he has to know. Has to see. So Jason takes him to where Barbara's body is at and we get this. Taylor has Cass doing what she does best: empathy and compassion towards Jim. You can tell via Mostert's art she's hurting. But-- she's right.

... we also know that DCeased Cass is still Batgirl, so their fight in must've happened as well. This Cass has most likely already proven her strength to her mother. She's shown her that, following her own path, she can be just as strong as her.

Shiva's concern for Cass was what gave them a decent escape strategy. Without her, they would've ended up in who knows where instead of an easily-defensible position with other survivors.

So I'm not gonna say she saved everyone because this still *is* DCeased, bu-u-ut...

Anyway, Shiva is ushered off at gunpoint and we get an oddly tender moment where Cass offers her to stay. And although Shiva refuses, they still acknowledge each other as family.

It's good to note that by this point Cass has had nearly all of her own found family die...

Anyway, things pick up real quick next issue where it's revealed that Shiva has been tasking Mirror Master with finding Cass, who's made it to an orphanage in Bludhaven with Gordon, Jason and Ace the Bat-Hound.

Now, DCeased is an alternate universe, and it's not clear...
