Personally when I use the blending tool (the finger icon) I usually use the Nikko Rull for it (this one)

When it comes to lighting I usually turn a layer from normal to “screen”

Also my favorite brush for library is a modified Dry Ink one. I used it on all of these drawings

Sunday self-portrait YUPO is not really paper, but very thin matt plastic. Ink doesn't easily dry on it. Hence splodges.
