Today I did a little study.

The overall design wasn't important. I just wanted to improve in some areas.
While I kept the thickness of the outlines constant, I broke the rule in "form-giving" places.
Also I used a more atmospheric hue for the shadows. (I made them blue lol)

I think it has to do a lot with having access to being able to view references and different styles from a much earlier age, along with being able to study.

These first two are from when I was 13/14 and the next two are more recent having been from 15/16

Utena, a case study. This show (1997) and film (1999) were released 2 years apart. It’s clear which key image is from the movie because of the new, dynamic cinematic angles used.

The other 2 key visuals are from the Sailor Moon Crystal show (2016) and movie (2020) :| 4 years...
