4. FFXIV Endwalker
3. Madness Project Nexus
2. Metroid Dread
1. Cruelty Squad
made some decent fanart in 2021 (lots of metroid and zelda lol)
some art goals for next year (out of many):
– get better at storytelling via composition
– make more confident color decisions
– maintain a physical sketchbook
– draw more original stuff
onwards, upwards in 2022
Also can we just talk about the absolute bangers that happened this year for gaming?
Metroid Dread
Sora, Pyra, Mythra, AND Kazuya in Smash
Teasers for Sonic Content
Guilty Gear Strive
Bowser's Fury
RE VILLAGE
IT TAKES TWO
NEW 3D KIRBY TEASER
ABSOLUTELY INSANE YEAR FOR GAMING-
2021 was a fantastic year for games. I think I played more games this year than the last 2-3 years combined.(being home 90% of the time helps)
Metroid Dread
Resident Evil Village
Valheim
Eastward
Guilty Gear Strive
Ridley up b is the most handsome spike. Sorry I don’t make the rules.

I also wanted to add this one. Never played Metroid dread I just wanted to try this character
Metroid: Samus Returns
I'm proud of the amount of HDGG stuff I was able to put together this year. The entire Metroid book, the Art Of book and of course the work I was able to do for Witch n' Wiz & Cathedral. HDGG went into a different direction than expected, but it was nice to be able to pivot.
Shonen Jump's One Piece
3h50
Happy new year 🤍
This year came out Metroid Dread, so here's a random Samus. Also, last picture of the year from me~

87) Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
Decent title, but this game seemed way too focused on it's combat, which is the least enjoyable part of Prime for me and the actual exploration didn't motivate me as much as Prime 1 did. Towards the end I just wanted it to be over tbh.
My movie and game of the year were just pipe dreams. Crazy

2021 was a year of Metroidvanias for me.
I started the year off by beating and 100%'ing Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Sublime game.
I also explored the Metroid series for the first time and became a massive fan.
Crazy that two of the best games of 2021 for me were on Switch! I thought I wouldn't get much use out of the console as a PC gamer primarily but Metroid Dread and Monster Hunter Rise proved otherwise. It's been a very pleasant experience playing them anywhere in the house.
