So I decided to paint some prayer flags. I’ve used watercolours as the transparency that they give is amazing and I had to depict that the flags were fading ,the belief goes that when your flags start fading your prayers are answered.

I made some really weird mistakes when rendering the skin on the first one, then just kept over rendering it. I was tempted to just start over, but I decided to finish it anyway as practice.

It was my mum's birthday last week and I couldn't go and see her... so I sent her a painting instead. Very grateful for a garden right now 💚

Process: I made the sketch in procreate, did quick colour ref and then watercolours. I forgot the butterflies though 🤦
