a simple shaded com for @the_wusky ! i am trying to improve with bg's and gosh its hard :')

wip thing; I never draw bg's before characters, what was I on

there was other art direction stuff but twas mainly guides n stuff! so!! backgrounds!

i wound up doing like, all but 2 of the 30 something bg's for the film so here are some of my faves c:

Smol Commission I did! I think it turned out kinda well tho still suck at bg's.

On a side note, ain't it amazing how BG's are painted? American made BG's tend to have very near edges, but Japanese ones have lots of fast masterful brush strokes.

I finally learned how to use CPS's perspective ruler tools lkdflkdfkljgfd I feel more comfortable doing BG's, I tried to paint something like from a Ghibli film

I'm messing around with what the BG elements are gonna be for this one since I can't... paint BG's...
So I might get rid of that base, not sure if I'm really feeling it. Planning to add orchids in the backdrop 🌼✨

snow day aired, here's some bg's I painted <3 #rottmnt #TMNT

Hazbin Hotel is a great pilot, but there's three things I didn't like (1). The characters are overly detailed, they get lost with the BG's. (2). The pacing is too fast. Cameras last less than 1 sec (3). These characters take a HUGE chunk of the pilot and don't matter in the end:

when i found out i was going to be doing vriska i started hooting and hollering, truly honored to have been given this opportunity
