Shadows and lighting are my pain. @Battleangel2661 helped me. And playing with dithering. Done.
@TrentonMcBeth Just finished working on a custom dithering shader for 3d images. These are just proofs of concept. Can't wait to apply this on environments and other effects.
Four animal heads were made over the weekend as it showcases my new, custom dithering shader. Total game-changer. They are available for 0.047 ETH here: https://t.co/r8QuTJvf2j Thank you! #lowpoly #cryptoart #metanaturalism #digitalart #animalart #pixelart #cgart #artcollector

@Emberheartgames I scaled it down, tweaked the levels a bit and turned dithering off in the tool and it definitely looks like the makings of the sort of thing you might see in an older game - e.g. Thunder Blade on the, admittedly more colourful, Master System.
@Procreate OK, turning on ‘per frame colour palette’ does mean that the gif exports ok, but it comes with its own problem - the colours can differ between the frames. Prob what it’s supposed to do, but you’re left with unwanted colour changes (dithering turned on so it’s clearer)
One of my favorite art styles is the light-handed contour hatching over marker/watercolor you'd see back when game artists worked in physical media. I often tried different ways of adding hatching into my pixels as a kind of ramped-up (but less animation friendly) dithering.
#ThrowbackThursday Did this one 20 years ago!
(Using a joystick, a Commodore 64, and a noisy TV set, hence the dithering mess).

Thinking of getting back to try the traditional dithering in pixel art.
These pixel arts are from 2017 that i never posted...they aren't that good, to be honest haha
a friend of mine told me to make pixel art of the witch character I drew earlier
I wanted to accurately capture the look of my paintings in pixel art
so I did some heavy dithering lol
Finished styleframes for my project! The dithering adds a nice grainyness to them.
So! I tried out Clip Paint Studio. Then I found out that has in-app purchases! So we’re trying out Krita for the mean time. I love the dithering effect and am having some fun!

I tried to reach something like the dithering effect by painting a lots of dots and brush strokes, from far away, it seems that the transitions between colors are smoother.

Another study practice, this time on 1 bit, minimalist color palettes, and dithering using @JiskeyJasket's style as a reference of study. Restrictions be restricting. I will def need to take another crack at it.
