Ngl, April is the best month.

I think this year I focused a lot on my overall style and color choices... and they are a lot more backgrounds this year. I fluctuated a lot, drawing a lot one month and then not drawing at all in another.

It's quicker and gives you more accurate values than turning saturation to 0%.
Using a B&W adjustment Layer can also work, but I tried it on different images and the accuracy fluctuates.

A: Turning saturation to 0% (incorrect value)
B: CTRL + Y (more accurate value)
