Sobek, the Egyptian crocodilian god of the Nile, was a protective and solar deity, warding off evil and protecting the innocent. In the New Kingdom period, he was fused with the Sun god to form Sobek-Ra, symbolizing the power of the Pharaohs and fertility of the Nile floodplains.

It is #WorldReptileDay and we are celebrating a partnership like no other: Nile #crocodiles and Egyptian #plovers! Plovers function like little winged toothbrushes, keeping the croc's mouth nice and clean, meanwhile the crocs provide them with a nice and steady meal.
Pluto (by @CzalSerafino) tried to teach his friend Nile how to draw. He's still got a long way to go, but he's pretty enthusiastic about it!
