My favorite design tip that helped me a lot with full color work was learning to take out the saturation so it's more clear what the contrast is between each color. Also, I'm working on a thing 🌲🌞🌲

...and here's a bit more of Dodge's concept. Mostly testing against possible bg colors that might be used in the first game so make sure the character actually pops off. Had to hit higher saturation on him which makes it a bit more cartoony but hopefully gets the job done.

Okay so I tried the pattern warp again & the layer effects. My layers for just this little bow are color < brightness < soft light < overlay < saturation 😭 It's the best I've gotten a pattern to look but does anyone have any critiques, or an easier idea of execution ??
