Very true, the art style started becoming much more detailed and realistic proportions rather than the 1998-2003 style where characters had very expressive poses and exaggerated proportions. They just look completely different now

see the weird thing about that mindset, is that you're a donkey kong fan, a series filled with completely exaggerated shapes, and while there is less use of sharp edges, the exaggerated shapes are still very prevalent, I think its just nostalgia tricking you bro
