It was originally announced under the act of Love title in 1985 (!). Also, Daredevil: Love & War was originally supposed to be published in Daredevil 219 and 220 but got bumped to a graphic novel i assume because Sienkiewicz wanted to paint it.

Final note: Bill Sienkiewicz did some brilliant covers for this book. His mandate was clearly to go over the top and have some fun. Absolutely love these 3 in particularly and their wildly unrealistic use of firearms.
