My main curiosity is that the dentary foramina row is much closer to the dental margin & there doesn’t seem to be as much of a groove in Spinosaurus when compared to some other theropods (Albertosaurus; Majungasaurus & Allosaurus, Sinraptor & Acrocanthosaurus). Why would this be?

To understand how much more range of motion had in its neck per joint, here's a comparison between Spino (27º), (20º) and (17º) at the DV1-CV12 joint (from the supplementary). One key factor is prezygapophysis elongation 10/n

First of challenge - Acrocanthosaurus - known for characteristically high neural spines, part of the "shark-tooth" Carcharodontosauridae family. Suggested by

One of the earliest known ornithischian from the Early Jurassic of South Africa, Lesothosaurus was a small gracile herbivore (or potentially omnivore) of not more than 2 m long, alongside many small Heterodontosaurs they lived on the shadows of the big animals.

Here's one of my OCs, Anais Lalisa Saspthosa! Despite her mastery in fire, light, and lightning as a sun witch and being trained as an agent, she is a calm, mannerly woman who loves to learn many subjects, especially technology.

I have too many favorites. Minus the ocean...but it could be good to have more water creatures for our ocean lovers. They need more love!

I'm even surprised you guys don't even have this guy. The Nothosarus.

Nothosaurus, a reptile doing its best impersonation of a Venus flytrap! Nothosaurus was a very diverse genus of medium to large aquatic sauropterygians that lived during the Triassic and primarily preyed on fish. That is a A LOT of long teeth!

What better way to conclude than to have a pre-flight toast with two of my favorite AMNH artists? They make fossils come to life in ways words cannot. 📸 Leptarctus by Nicole Wong, Sinornithosaurus by Mick Ellison, both

The Witte Museum in San Antonio is renovated to the theme of Texas natural history and opens with a beautiful bright space of Cretaceous animals. It’s star is a lovely Acrocanthosaurus!
