Iron Angel of the Apocalypse/Tetsujin - 3DO
Gameplay's not great (the controls are stiff compared to Wolf3D) but the isolated atmosphere, dark plot, and surreal presentation really elevate this game for me.
I can't even imagine how this would have felt to experience back in 1994

A truly fun and eventful JRPG. Most of every boss battle feels well done and a milestone and the amount of creativity at the end is vast. Story is a little edgy and not well fleshed out...
