Young me thought looking at reference for art was cheating (unless you were figure drawing). It still feels a little wrong but I can see huge improvements now that I've started to use reference and I hope that I can continue to grow even faster by studying the world around me. :)

the dream obv is emulating faces like this by . now obv i'm never gonna reach these standards but one has to have goals, no? and it provides a decent frame of reference for how i might achieve the improvements i seek

Vanilla's preferable as far as the story is concerned. The QoL improvements from Golden are amazing, but the new events break the tone, setting and pacing of the game by constantly removing you from the quiet life in Inaba. Also why'd they oversaturate everything in a fog town?

Lots of small tweaks and improvements over the weekend, but I think the biggest accomplishment was designing Tina's clothing. She's a major supporting character in the story, and probably has some of my favorite lines in the game.
