One of my biggest hopes for Metroid Dread is the return of the ending illustrations from the GBA games.
I know that SR was trying to imitate II's ending screen, but I really hope they don't go "we 3D now" and give us another slightly animated Samus on a black background.

3. I think this semi-realistic style I am doing rn. Bold lines and lots of details. Heavily referenced background. A mix between stereotypical cartoony style I grew up with and manga and realism I fell in love with.

Because they can, I guess. All the unnecessary shadowing bothers me too. They don't need thick pronounced shadows under the picture frames in the background.
