It took me a bit to get into Ed McGuinness' work, but then I fell in love with it the more I saw it.

I recall thinking Mr. Majestic is good, but Ed would kick ass on Supes.

And a few months later he did, and I was picking up Superman again after being away a couple years.

Loeb & Turner are in perfect creative harmony when Superman has to cut loose.

Loeb's plot is emotionally raw for Clark and he shows a range of fiery emotions and has to get physical. Turner keeps Supes pure by showing the emotions i.e regret, sadness & reflection in his face.

My favourite superman books are All Star Superman, A Superman for All Seasons, The Return of Superman and Whatever Happened to The Man of Tomorrow. Each has moments of melancholy but get Supes so right. I don't mind else words stuff though like Speeding Bullet - SuperBatman.
