Antonio Nicolo Gasparo Jacobsen (1850-1921) was a Danish-born American maritime artist known as the "Audubon of Steam Vessels". Jacobsen was born in Copenhagen. #Jacobsen painted more than 6,000 portraits of sail and steam vessels, making him "the most prolific of marine artists"
John Gould (14 Sept 1804 - 3 Feb 1881) was without question the most prolific and successful ornithological artist of the 19th century, and the only one to rival John James Audubon in ambition and quality.
