I'd say Supergiant has a pretty good reputation with its art, worldbuilding, writing/dialogue, and character design

that said, high benchmark, with Hades they outdid themselves with all the likable characters in this game that has gotten everyone hot and bothered

Anyone who holds any of these games up as a benchmark for video game storytelling doesn't understand storytelling at all. Instead they just think being beaten over the head with what emotions they're supposed to be feeling is the same as telling a good story.
