Did a quick drawing for @/caeruIeae to prove a point that pastel/desaturated colors can still be accurate and that the “its the style!!1!1” is a terrible excuse to just not learn how to do it properly

Just wanted to show how I would approach dark skin in a pastel desaturated style. Using limited values is great! It’s all about how they interact within the piece. The skin should be closer to the black hair value than to the background which will make the skin appear darker.

ok i tried to see if i could filter it around to fit a little bit more w the coloring style of op, i literally just shifted the hue a little to the pink side and desaturated it a little to make it fit with the paleness of the colors (sorry for editing without perm)

I like using desaturated colors but a friend suggested I use a richer brown cause it looked very grey. I don't mind it that much but I guess I could use some more imput on it? :o
