I have a love/hate relationship with early 2000s anime dubs.

A lot of them are really terrible at respecting the source material, but they always have this sort of cheesy stupid charm that makes me nostalgic for that time period.

Did you like the dub? Well the dub for was done by the same people! NYAV Post was founded by Michael Sinterniklaas who also voice directed both of them! Other dubs done by them include Berserk, Your Name, Gundam Unicorn, and Venture Bros.

Also, it bugs me that people are just generally OK with making official joke dubs of Asian stuff. I'm not saying everyone who enjoys these is a bigot. Absolutely not saying that. But I do think it reflects how North Americans historically see Asian cultures as lesser overall.
