カトリックの司教などが着用する帽子をMitraと呼ぶらしい。
だから僧房弁はmitral valveなんですね。
僧帽弁が腱索に引っ張られている形(特に開放している拡張期)が右の写真の帽子をひっくり返した形に似ていることから名づけられたようです。
