Just got done with the Catra fanart! The background might look like a throwaway, but I actually "hand-painted" it because I was wearing my Captain Idiot hat and forgot there was a much easier way to create the effect. 😂

Aaand, 8 months after another serious art with my character - Ferret!
It's really strange (yet fun) to look back and realise how she transformed from a placeholder-throwaway-character to something very dear to me
Eaither way don't worry - her future is sure a bright one!

This is why sunday strips always have a throwaway joke in the first row - that's because in some papers, that row is chopped off entirely, and can't be considered essential to the overall strip (you can see an example below, from a relatively early strip)

While drawing may be my job, it's also something I do to wind down when my day's about to be over....these 2 are spontaneous gift doodles I did just for the heck of it. Thought I'd share. Characters belong to throwaway (FA) and <3

6/17/80: One of the most consequential comics ever. X-MEN gave us the fate of Jean Grey, and it hinged upon a seemingly throwaway panel in a previous issue. Claremont/Byrne deliver their masterstroke, and we were stunned. Four decades later and it still lands its punch.
