Morturneria, an antarctic Aristonectine, sucks up krill resting on the bottom of some sea ice. Morturneria was a supremely weird filter feeder, sifting through sediment to feast on small invertebrates

Loosening up them sketches some, and a few vertebrae it seems.

My new and ongoing series, ‘In Spirit Invertebrate’, celebrates biodiversity, human diversity and imagination. The full series (so far) can be viewed on my website, https://t.co/POi9DAAQW7, and an explanation of the concept behind it is on my blog, https://t.co/DYqUIgJjCy

So looked at all the profiles once and then did them. Man I suck at invertebrates. @Goji_Saurus,@BVisigodo,@JCRev4,@Mycterops,@LikesPterosaurs,@PermianSailback,@Waxosaurs,@Smileyvenator,@SovietWilliam

#FlockOfArtists I draw all flying vertebrates, but mainly the prehistoric ones, mainly from the Mesozoic. I might have an obsession.
[also, just 10 followers short of reaching 6k!] [What? How? When?]
#SundayFishSketch of Masterpisces, though it looks a little like Dunkleosteus, is the oldest known vertebrate to give birth to live young. The holotype was found in 2005 in the Gogo Formation in Australia.

Miragaia was a stegosaur that seemed like it wanted to be a sauropod! It had the longest neck known of any stegosaur, with possibly around 17 vertebrae. Its named after the parish of Miragaia, Portugal, where its bones were found nearby!

Hi, I am Gabriel and I am a paleoartist and scientific illustrator. I illustrate/reconstruct both extant and extinct animals, particularly tetrapods (although lately I have done quite a lot of invertebrates) 😊
