i really liked this book as a kid because the illustrations, bright contrasted colors against black/stark yellow, and imagery of an old woman eating animals until she died, made it a little aesthetically harsher (for lack of a better term) than most kids books

This a HARSH one, because imo DR2 had the better cast and story, but V3 had the better production value, class trials, OST and ending. So if I'm gonna be honest here Ima say DR2 is my favorite, but V3 is like MILLIMETERS close to it!

im just observing and comparing older stuff and i think since i realised popular art styles seem to mostly be soft/rounded thats when i started making my art a lot more harsh and spiky. and also that anime art often has thin lines and mines got thicker.
