Romeo is... a pain in the butt to draw. I bought a compass that looks like it just so I don't have to imagine all its weird angles but still I struggle. I think I like this sequence because it rejects Charlie just like it always rejects me. Plus, the colors, come on!

This may be something of a deep cut, but Laxia from Ys VIII made me wish the player character wasn't literally as dense and non-emotive as possible. She's... smart, capable, and compassionate. Also, while her design might not be super practical, I think it's neat.

Raphael got it spot on imo. Euclid is anti-Plato. As Plato naively points up, Euclid and his mathematical friends demonstratively turn the opposite way, embracing physicality, anchoring the very essence of geometry in the tangible steel of the compass and wax of the tablet.

I grew up on Harry Potter (admittedly I didn’t read the books till high school 😅) this series is what got me into the fantasy genre and eventually inspired me to an author (still working on first book). Golden Compass I find was a very enchanting movie.
