This is a WIP example on how I used one of the holographic-like gradient maps to add some contrast to a drawing I am working on. I am most probably going to tone it back but it helps me find new exciting directions with my pieces! 😊 I hope it can help others as well!

i feel like the darker tips on the neck fur could be hard to keep track of, but if you wanna keep the nice gradient feel maybe a suggestion would be to kind of morph them down/extend them into one marking?

Love looking at my recent doodle 'Ballroom' — no idea how I ended up with a matchstick-looking thing, and the whole image was originally going to be built around the skewiff diagonal background lines. Still relying heavily on the same few gradient maps and grain to finish.

i think this is honestly my most 1:1 recreation of an original sketch, front to back, and yet a HUGE showcase of the difference that textures make when stacked on top of eachother. the idea was to make it a gradient with three levels of “toughness”. i could make it smoother tho!

Baima’s tattoo. Tried new techniques: 1. instead of doing separate sketch, pencil, and ink layers, just did a single pencil sketch and cleaned it up; 2. gradient map on b&w instead of manual coloring. both worked well & will be great timesavers when I start drawing comic pages 😊
