Ok, I stumbled on a pretty cool art style now. Here, I'm creating pixel thin lines from contrasts in my procedural normal map. I should probably move to a bespoke contrast texture (to get more deliberate control over the lines). But I gotta say this looks pretty promising.

Just taking a random OP panel for comparison as it’s the one people cite most next to Jojo but how do you not see that the contrast is fundamentally a part of the composition of a panel. Having fully coloured characters talking in an empty void is just a weird nightmare to read.

Here's some extra pieces I've done traditionally with graphite and contrast boosted since they were taken with a phone camera. Before I became primarily a digital Artist, Graphite on paper using a basic pencil was my best and most commonly used medium.

I mostly finished mid-rendering it, and jumped to finishing stuff, I colored the lineart, gave tweaks to the contrast in the lineart, gave a little more personality to his hair giving little rebel strands, painting his eyelashes, a white rectangle in the eye and signature +

The contrast between the 2 kisses. I love how it was portrayed in the 1st photo that it's just some kind of "exchange" between the two of them. Looking at it now, even though both kisses were done by Lee Won, there's already a reflection of affection in the 2nd one

I would say theres quite a bit of a contrast between the two.

Though it only allowed me to pick one solid color I believe I did my best with making it close as possible. ⭐

Stage 4 of the Imperial Camel Corps. I think I’ll go with black leather tack to add a little contrast, otherwise it runs the risk of all looking a bit flat and “sandy” coloured

Probably a good time to point out that TT's latest MP silhouette is inaccurate...on the left is their original silhouette (contrast enhanced + color added by me). On the right, they are now overlaying mis-sized mis-angled images of the "revealed" parts. WHYY

Heck you know what, in F-Zero, I actually could sympathize with this notorious gang leader, because he still honors his late parents by listening to rock and classical musics, the latter I would say is a contrast to his character. I thought it was heartwarming.
