generally when animating wind-motions i start by taking a line and then curving it into different shapes, usually being a lot more subtle in smaller art

combining it with good pacing & subpixeling between the frames the result looks much much smoother and more natural, like so

The beginnings of hedgerows. Nice to get some smaller scale detail in there. Also obviously a very contextual way of making the tiles more readable.

I really need some better beaches though. It looks weird when they just trail off like that.

Fun fact: I use wallpaper engine for both of my monitors. For my smaller monitor, I have a bunch of wallpapers from different series I like n' such.

For the bigger monitor though, I have a playlist of strictly wallpapers.

This game has taken control of my entire life.
