My new approach to pixel art is to start with a sketch on how I want the sprite to look. I tried pulling up the sketch I originally used for my texture pack, but I realized that I never saved it.

Here is a wip pic with the different sizes, so this would be a medium-ish sprite with some extra room for the tail and tip of the wing (usually dont mind adding extra if it is for a tail, weapon or something so it fits better)

Aria didn't change to much since her original incarnation mostly the straps and more orange hair. which I didn't really like at first but it's grown on me makes her stand out more. Back in the day she was the hardest to draw so all I have is her sprite. Dunno why.
