After Eugene’s death, Berthe created a series of portraits of Julie grieving for her father. These works coincided with Berthe’s return to Renaissance painting techniques—rich hues and long brushstrokes that were perfect for portraying the willowy 16-year-old Julie had become.

First time in ages I've managed to do some personal work! Bit of an experiment, but I wanted to try looser brush strokes :)

This is such a wonderful painting, the artist has painted buffalo for 50 years, look carefully at the buffalo's eyes and looks, u will be really amazed how he can use only a few strokes to vividly depict the spirit of what he paints. Sometimes u pass by real art and u don't see🌻

'Flower Cave 2' by Julie Wigg.
Julie's slowly evolve like a tapestry, overlapping woven surface layers of thin applications of interlaced with impasto strokes, and other materials.

Mondrian's layers of color, and brush strokes within the rectangular forms are in abundance. As if he was trying to communicate the nature of spirit which is always in layers in his vision. Just like Jung was always unearthing the layers of human mind.

Some painting-practice from a photo to start off 2018! Reminding myself to loosen up and be comfortable indicating detail with loose strokes rather than explaining it. Cheers!

Podo! found us our final Podo, which we realized needed eyeballs under his eyebrows pretty late in the game xD
His textures are some of my favorite work by - great, thick brushstrokes that give him so much flavor! :D

Just started this small 10”x8” oil on linen piece today. Mum and my hands...only broad strokes so far. A very personal piece. ❤️

Experimenting with emotional edges and minimalism in this portrait of Vincent Van Gogh.

Only about 15 strokes in this one (give or take). And it’s small - roughly 6x6.

And once again a little update to my little OC art. Fun thing about it is that for a second time I'll have chance to add calligraphic Hanzi (Chinese characters) And it'll be 閃電焰 伊麗莎白 (ALL THE STROKES!). It should look pretty cool I hope 😎

Fixed it.

The blush was unnecessary and the strokes were to thin.

It’s been amazing focusing on mark-making and colours recently. The process of creation without the technicalities. This piece was painted with bold brush strokes, palette knife scrapings & chalk pastels...and of course love 💚 https://t.co/ZyHQrTxO70

Took a lot, and I mean a LOT, of small rapid bursts to get this done. Small refined strokes for the hand was needed but my hand could not deliver for some time. I'm so happy that I got to work with a kitty girl <3 This is Commander Chanel Shepard signing off for the last time.

I could go on polishing brush strokes forever, but this has already taken more hours to paint than it took all of us to play these characters combined, so - DONE! Characters of Out of the Storm, our campaign of by
