In Catalonia we have the ancient tradition of the "Tió". It's a log we take indoors (a cut log, not a tree). We paint a face on it, we "feed" it for weeks and on Christmas day (wait for it) children literally beat the crap out of the log while singing.
And it poops presents.

That said, in modern times, what you actually want to do is get XCom on Steam or GOG, and then get OpenXCom, which uses the assets of the original game, but is re-written from scratch with the (many) bugs fixed, and so many quality-of-life improvements its hard to tweet them. 🤓

Thank you very much for asking 💚! I painted a gazillion cats this year, but I guess I'm most proud of this tree frog, because I think I managed to capture his funny expression and his semi-translucent skin, which was way harder than painting soft fur. 🐸
