Corporal Jackie was a baboon in the SA army in WW1. The owner Albert Morr captured Jackie around his farm, and became his pet. Albert was drafted into WW1 and didn't want to leave Jackie alone so he became the 3rd Transvaal Regiment's mascot. He also acted as a sentry for them.

Going for the idea of having to hold in emotions. When you have to stay calm and smile when you're losing it inside.

I actually haven't done any pieces of baboons or hyenas, but that's a good idea!

I seem to paint a pretty good tiger, so that's my most recent painting. Though I tend to also gravitate toward dragons and other mythical creatures. (Some examples). Wolves may come in Inktober too.
